Photoshop 6
Windows 2000 Pro SP3
Dell Latitude C610 1.0G Processor,
1.0G RAM, 40.0G Hard Drive with 35G of Free Space.
HP OfficeJet 5110
Error logs clean

Issue:
Every time Photoshop is open a TWAIN Data Source Redirector window appears and states the following:

The TWAIN data source file is missing or incorrectly specified. Please enter the actual TWAIN data source file name and entry point. TWAIN Data Source
File Name:
Entry Point: ___Show All Browse
Override Identity Settings

We are not looking to use Photo shop to grab directly items from a scanner or camera. When browse is clicked, we have entered the .DS file associated with the OfficeJet attached. To get by this we can click Cancel and it goes into the program.

Yoda,

It sounds like Photoshop is looking for a file that has been removed or corrupted.

You can try holding down the CTL-ALT-SHFT keys while starting up Photoshop. It will ask you if you want to delete the startup file – say yes. See if that helps.

If that does not solve the problem, try reinstalling your scanner software that came with the Officejet. Also, check the HP web site to see if they have updated drivers.

Finally, you might look in the Photoshop Plugins folder to see if there is a reference to your scanner and/or twain drivers. If none of the above suggestions worked, you can try deleting those files.

Actually, the TWAIN manager is looking for something that is messed up. (but it shouldn’t prompt during launch!)

Most likely this is a driver for some scanner or camera that you previously installed.
