I am using Photoshop 7.0.1 on a PC Platform, with my work space colour set to the sRGB IEC61966-2.1 profile. I am running into colour mismatches when I work on a file that is in the same colour space, the first time the file is opened there is no problem but the next time there is a message stating that the file profile of sRGB IEC61966-2.1 does not match the work space profile of sRGB IEC61966-2.1. I have found that I must discard the profile then convert back to sRGB IEC61966-2.1, if I try to use the profile the file comes in with really whacked colour.

To fix this I have tried re setting all preferences in Photoshop at start. I have re installed the program from scratch, and have made sure that all the most recent updates are installed.

This problem is occurring on multiple machines. Any suggestions on what to try?

I’m wondering if you’ve overwritten the original sRGB profile during the Adobe Gamma Process, and the result is what you’re seeing. If that might be so, the profiles are available on the Adobe Download page.

😕

In our studio we have disabled our Adobe Gamma and work with custom montior calibration combined with soft proofing with ICC profiles from the labs we use.

Are you getting these images from a single source ? If so, perhaps their sRGB profile is corrupt and creating your problem. Having the problem on multiple machines would seem to point to the source of the files, but that may be too simplistic an answer.

I have two different Cannon cameras that are used. I are using Cannon’s Phase One software to aquire the images at which point they are converted to the profile I am using. The first time that the files are opened by Photoshop there is never an error, it seems to be after I have done some work and saved the file that the problem occurs, also the problem does not always seem to occur eventhough I do nothing different.

I also noticed that if after the error I discard the profile then go and convert back to the sRGB proflie and save it again it seems to maintain the tagging.
