black pasteboard workspace

A while back I heard of a way to change the grey pasteboard workspace around the image one is working with to black…when upgrading to CS3 I forgot how to do it….anyone have any ideas?

the F key toggles between window,grey and black,

I remember using it in CS2 to change, but in 3 it won’t or is my memory defective??

the F key toggles between window,grey and black,

yes that does the trick, but I seem to recall that I could keep my menu AND keep the work space black at the same time….

Use the paint bucket and click on that space with the ALT key pressed.

There are two possible things going on here. One is that you have the black area as a result of hitting "F" twice. You can’t change that as far as I know. Just hit "F" again.

The other possibility is that you actually changed the gray pasteboard in a normal mode by using Shift-Paint Bucket with Black as the foreground color. Change it back the same way with R=192,G=192,B=192, or trash Preferences.
