My Diffuse Glow filter seems to be out of order. Instead of creating a white, glowing look, it creates a black one. Rather than a transparent white film, there’s an opaque black layer on top of what should be all glowy. In essence, what should be white is black. Have I somehow messed with my default settings or something?

Does anybody know how to fix this problem?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

is the layer you’re trying to apply the effect to in "Normal" mode? (in the layers palette).

Check to be sure foreground and background are at default. If they are reversed, so is the effect.

Thanks for the tip! But how do I check that?

Tools palette, 4th up from bottom. Black box should be in front of white.
