CS upgrade… Is Illy 10 worth anything?

I have Photoshop 6 and Illy 10. I can buy the
CS upgrade from the PS version. I should be
able to sell the Illy registration, no? Is it worth
anything?

If you registered Illustrator 10 with Adobe, then you wouldn’t be able to sell it as they have a record.

I’m allowed to transfer the registration, am I not?
I wouldn’t want to sell it if there is some kind of
restriction.

I’m allowed to transfer the registration, am I not?
I wouldn’t want to sell it if there is some kind of
restriction.
Adobe has a form on their website for transferring
product registration to someone else. It is important
that you (the seller) fill it out and give it to the buyer otherwise they have an illegal copy and you supplied
it to them.

Thanks. That is what I would do and anyone who
bought a copy w/o something like that would not
be able to upgrade.

What I think you might be missing, Cat, is that when you buy an upgrade, you are technically buying an add-on to your original purchase not a completely new purchase.

I do realize that but I’d like to think that I’m buying
an upgrade from Photoshop to Suite which includes
Illustrator CS, whether I had Illy 10 or not, and since
I can’t upgrade from Illy by itself, it seems like my
Illy license is separate.

If there are two people: one owns Illy and Photoshop
and the other just Photoshop, the upgrade price to
CS suite is the same, so it seems to me that the guy
who bought Illy should be able to sell it.

That would be my take on it as well as your Illy license has no bearing whatsoever on your ability to purchase the suite upgrade…that is dependent on your PS license. If in doubt, clarify with Adobe…they are really good about such things.
