Is there a way to take a picture and use a filter to make it look like a sketch?

How would you go about doing this? Is it an add on filter or something else?

If memory serves me wellit is a filter either called thresholder or by thresholder.

Try a google on "Little Ink Pot" or "sketcher" I am sure these keywords will help

Or try the Action Exchange. They have many good actions there that you can modify if the result is too strong.

A good one is Akkia’s Sketch It.

Photoshop’s own Graphic Pen filter can yield some nice results with the right kind of image.

Just did this one: <http://www.beautyphoto.co.uk/proofs/sketch.jpg> to quickly illustrate the effect using Graphic Filter’s default settings.

re:

I have Sketch Master and all of the "free ones." 🙂 Over the past few months I’ve been gravitating towards using Corel Painter more, so I haven’t been using SM as often as I did when I first got it.

This might be of interest (review and examples): <http://www.pbase.com/dannyraphael/sketch_master>

When Sketch Master is used in conjunction with other effects, the results can be quite unique.

Redfield’s Sketch Master is a good one. So are some of the others. Wonder what it would take to cajole him into porting to OS X?

All you’d have to do is convince him it was his idea and he’d show up on the cover of Time magazine next to a “beige box”.

Was that too much? Sorry if so. 😉
