When I open a folder using the Adobe bridge, it seems to take forever…in fact, it doesn’t seem to work at all the way a file browser should. What am I doing wrong?

It seems like I have to click on each individual image file to get a thumbnail, regardless, .tif, .psd, .whatever. The .tifs (~300 mB files) are painfully slow to generate thumbs.

And it’s sooooo incredibly sssslllllooooowwwwww all-around. CS was much, much faster. So what am I doing wrong?

It takes a while to generate thumbnails – but you should see progress within a few seconds. There is a preference in the Bridge that makes it not generate thumbnails for huge files (default is 200 Meg and over) that you may be hitting.

bridge uses a whole lot of ram, after the thumbs are populated the first time, you will see a large increase in speed, as they are cached, just like in CS file browser. Just remember, CS2 uses much more ram
