PSCS2 WinXP P4 3GHz 2GB

2 images open in CS2. No layers, just backgrounds. Drag the background layer from the layers palette and drop into the other image. If you drag up and over, the hand stays a hand and drops into the second image. If you drag down and over, the hand turns into a barred circle (‘no’ symbol) and stays a barred circle but still lets you drop into second image. (In CS1 the barred circle turns back into a hand when you get out of the layers palette.)

Anybody else getting this?

BTW if you drag straight sideways, it depends on how fast you drag. Drag slowly and you get a barred circle; drag fast and you get a hand…

I realize this is just a minor annoyance, but when I see the barred circle I immediately try to figure out what I’m doing wrong. There are so many ways to do things wrong in PS, it would be helpful if the warnings were correct.

Disclaimer: I have to say that this is one of the best upgrades PS has ever had. All the new features and tools are great! PS continues to astound me with its power and usability after all these years. I almost feel guilty complaining about these little annoyances. But there so many other CS2 quirks, including the ‘Disappearing Help Center’
