I have an ICC profile created by my SpyderPro, it is being used by my monitor. (I’ve verified this in Windows XP.
Questions/Assumptions:
I’m using CS2 with images shot with a Canon20d (Camera set RGB), Printer is an HP 8750. Paper for this test is Ilford smooth pearl using Ilford profile IGSPP9_HP8750PHGF_0605v04.icc
1. Should my Photoshop working space be AdobeRGB or the ICC profile that the Spyder produced? I assume AdobeRGB although the image doesn’t seem to look any different on screen either way?
2. When I use Print Preview are the following settings what I should be using? Print Preview, Color Management
Profile: Adobe RGB
Options, Color Handling: let photoshop determine color
Printer profile: IGSPP9_HP8750PHGF_0605v04.icc
Rendering Intent: Relative colormetric
3. Paper/Quality Tab
Type is: HP Prem High gloss film (according to Ilford)
Quality: Best
4. ColorTab:
There are three options here: colorSmart/sRGB
Adobe RGB
managed by Application
I believe I should use managed by application here since I don’t want the printer to do any management???
So in summary, the questions:
Should my working space be AdobeRGB or my custom monitor profile? Is what I have in step 2. and 3. correct?
Am I right on step 4. under color tab, select managed by application?
Thanks,
Joe
