I remember in 7 I could go to blending options and select any regular jpg file and overlay it onto the layer. Kinda like color overlay, except its a texture like a pattern. I was able to put a camoflauge pattern (jpg formatt) onto a layer. In CS i can only see patterns to add onto a layer, and cant figure out how to add a jpg or any graphic onto a layer. I am trying to add this:

How can it be done?

All you have to do now is open the image and drag it to your other image. it will create a new layer. from the drop down list select overlay and it will over lay the layer under it.

Mmh, maybe apply image? but the fastest and more flexible way to do things is indeed to use layers and blending modes.

oops forgot to mention, make sure that you have the layer selected that you want the overlay to appear on so that when you drag the image over the new layer will appear above it.

The first part of my message didn’t get through so here it is again,

Open the image that you want to use for the overlay. Make sure that the image you’re currently working on is visible. I.E. Not minimized. Drag the overlay image to the one you’re working on. I new layer will appear for that image. Now Just select overlay from the drop down menu on the layers tab. Then read my second post which is now my first post.
