I am new to photoshop. My previous graphic person is no longer with me. He made a brochure that contas many labels in text in curved format. ( for example the word Knowlege Management" is like a half of circle curved starting from 8 oclok ends in 12 oclock if you imagine the face of the clock. How can I over write that word? I think the easitest way for me to create the new label and paste it over the existing one. But how do I create that text line in curved format? How do I retain the background color? ANy help wotuld be appreciated. This is only a change3 for two labels and not worst hiring anybody for it.

Thanks

I depends on your version of photoshop. Prior to CS/CS2, your only option was to use the Warp feature. You click on the text tool and look in the options bar at the top. Also, if the text already exists, it’s just a layer (unless he rasterized it). You can double click on a text layer in the layers palette and edit it.

In CS/CS2, a new feature was added called text on a path. Essentially, one can draw a line and make the text follow it. See the help file for more info.

Again though, text appears as a layer in the layers palette and double clicking on the layers palette will enable editing of the text.

Is the text in editable form? You can tell that if there is a layer in the layers palette with a T thumbnail. If there is, just double-click on it and type over with whatever new text you want (even if it is Warped, not on a path).

I think whatever you do you should duplicate the file first so if you mess up you will still have a version that can be worked on.

And are you sure it was done in Photoshop and not Illustrator (where you can have text on a path)?

You can make text on a path in Photoshop since ver CS.

Always good to know what software and what version was used to create something. Otherwise we are shooting in the dark.
