Tifs getting corrupted

Okay, I render things in Photoshop then plot from AutoCAD. For cad I have to save the psd as a tif.

Frequently now these tifs are being ‘corrupted’ for lack of a better term. Big gray noisy bands appear across the length of the image. When you open the tif in Photoshop the bands are part of the image. I guess it happens when Autocad accesses the file, but I don’t know why that would affect anything. Anyone have any ideas?

guess it happens when Autocad accesses the file,

I doubt it, but to check make the file read only.

Aaron,

I know nothing about Autocad, but if you happen to be using PS7, are you saving the TIFF with layers or flattened? If in layers, perhaps that type of TIFF isn’t being handled properly by Autocad and is, in turn, being corrupted. On the other hand, if you are saving a flattened file, then I’ve no idea what is wrong and agree that TDO’s suggestion to make the file read-only might help you confirm Autocad is corrupting the file.
