That worked. But it’s strange that the Premiere manual suggests using this option, and when I do it doesn’t work.

bug.

Jim: this is only a problem when the files (or even just one of them) is/are already in the sRGB colour space before running Image Processor.

If all your source files are (say) Adobe RGB1998 Image Processor will successfully run and convert them to the web-friendy sRGB colour space.

Got it. I hadn’t thought to check what color space was being used. I scanned the pictures using Photoshop, which creates .psd files, then wanted to convert them to .jpg for easy import into Premiere Pro. (Being asked about layers for every picture is annoying, especially when there is only one layer.)

I ended up going with .tiff files, which work just as well. Good to know why it went wrong, though.

I want to resize (by image size, not pixels by height and width), sharpen, then convert the files to jpg. How can I run this batch from Bridge?

* Make a simple action to sharpen. Nothing else just sharpen.

* Then work out the pixel count for the size you require. For example 10×8" at 300ppi = 3000×2400 pixels.

* In Bridge, select the images you wish to resize

* Tools>Photoshop>Image Processor.

* In the Jpeg section of the dialogue, set the Resize to boxes BOTH to 3000 pixels (this is so both upright and horizontal images will be resized to 10×8")

* Set the Run Action section to show the "Sharpen" action you created earlier.
