My system crashed. I reinstalled 7.0 and then the update for 7.0.1. Now when I select IMPORT Epson twain5 (epson perfection 2450 scanner), it insists on going to a camera and bombs out. Why does it think I am going to a camera when I select twain??

First I do not have a camera connected to the computer. I did uninstall and reinstall. Still does not work.
Why is it looking for a camera, when I do not have one installed????? It shows Epson Twain 5 on the select, but when I select it, it seems to think I am selecting the one above or below that is a camera.

windows XP. I just found out that if I use Adobe Image Ready instead of Photoshop, I can access the Twain. What is the difference between Photoshop and Image Ready?

Why do you think it is looking for a camera?

If it SAYS it’s looking for a camera, then that is because you picked the TWAIN driver for a camera. (TWAIN can support any image capture device)

There is no difference between the TWAIN code in Photoshop and ImageReady. Most likely you have a bad driver installed, or a conflict between multiple drivers.
