Calibrate your monitor? Do the photos display better in a different program or viewer.
What type of output are you comparing this to.
Each printer / monitor / output device is going to diplay colors differently. It is up to the user to adjust these to their own taste or need.

It just appears lighter on my monitor when i load it with CS2, but if i load it with image viewer it appears how it is ment to look.
PS is colour managed, your image viewer is not.
Calibrating the monitor is the way to go.
How do i calibrate monitor ? I have a 17" philiphs TFT
but if i load it with image viewer it appears how it is ment to look.
It’s the other way around.
The numbers in a file don’t really mean anything except for a basic color definition (as viewed by your image viewer).
When a color profile is assigned to the numbers, that basic definition becomes very specific, and your monitor must be calibrated to preview that.
And as far as how an image is meant to look, I suppose that can vary (different profiles assigned) depending on user need/fancy.
