Photoshop – keyboard not functioning

I have Photoshop CS2 for Windows.
While I can work fine with the mouse, when I try to use the keyboard, Photoshop does not respond, for example, ctrl-o, ctrl-n, and so on, or pressing the letter to select brushes or other appliances.

If I switch applications, for example, Outlook or IE, the keyboard works fine. What could be wrong? Thank you.

I noticed this problem posted several times. I just recently started experiencing this same issue.

What worked for me was to modify the page file size to 1024-4096MB and the visual effects to best performance. These are located in the Performance options on the advanced tab of the System Properties.
