Hi,
these are the specs of my computer :
WIN XP
Pentium(R) 4CPU 2.80Ghz 512Ram 51.1 GB Free space

PS CS2

Question :
how many Megs should I allocate to MEMORY if I am generally working with approx 25MB files, but I have a lot of Layers etc, also what should I keep my history state at?

The reason for all this is I got a message saying my Virtual Memory was low and noticed that PS is responding real slow….

set windows swap size to 2.5 gig (right click my computer> properties> advanced> performance (click "settings")> click advanced tab> virtual memory> (click change button).

restart windows.

open ps. make sure memory settings in preferneces is set to ~55%. i like my history states set at at least 100.

restart ps.
