I have been running a 30 day free trial of Photoshop Elements 5.0. I have now purchased a boxed copy of Photoshop Elements 5.0 and want to install it. Do I have to do an Uninstall of the free trial first, or is there an easier way to convert to the purchased version?

Whoops! You knocked on the wrong door!

This is Photoshop Windows (where a lot of people take the weekend off). Elements is a couple of doors down the hall – and are more likely to pop in at the weekend 🙂

Donald,

Trial products vary in how they work, as far as "converting" to a retail product. Look at the Help menu of your trial installation to see if there is any option to enter a serial number, buy now, or other such things. If a "buy now" sort of option, even that may provide a dialog to enter a serial number. If you see nothing like that, you probably do have just a time-limited trial and will need to uninstall it, then install the PSE5 retail version.

It’s probably safest to uninstall the trial version from Control Panel, then install the purchased version.
