Whenever I turn on PHOTOSHOP CS2, it always pops up this windows to say that it cannot discover this file as M2000Twn.dll so, it cannot be ran as well. Please help me out.

My OS is Windows VISTA Home Version.

Hi Kang,

A Google search for that file led me to DriverAgent.com, what appears to be a site where one can download obscure files such as this, but which also has a $30 membership fee. However, they give a preview of the CD contents that include M2000Twn.dll and I noticed "BisonCam" in the folder names and did a search on that. It sounds like this is the name of a built-in web camera on some ASUS laptops and perhaps other brands of PCs. If that sounds familiar to you, then I suspect you need to get updated TWAIN drivers for that camera from your PC manufacturer for Windows VISTA.

Regards,

Daryl

I just loaded Adobe Web Premium CS3 on my Notebook (Windows Vista operating system). I received the same error when I opened Photoshop CS3. (Cannot find M2000Twn.dll) Is there some update that will correct this error?
Thanks for any help you can give me.

seems to be web cam related (not a photoshop dll). do you have a web cam? or had? if so reinstall the software for it then remove via add remove programs. that should clear the error.

I do have a web cam. It is an acer orbicam by bison. I downloaded the drivers for it and uninstalled and reinstalled both the device and the application. I still received the error. When I looked at the driver file details for the orbicam in the device manager, I saw that it does not use the file m2000twn.dll, it uses m2000t07.dll instead.
One of the folders that was in the driver download does contain the file m2000twn.dll. Since I had access to the file, I copied it into the same folder that contained the other .dll file and that seems to have resolved the issue.
Thank you so much for your help. I would not have thought to look for this file in the web cam driver folders.

twn = twain, maybe? look in the file menu, you might find an entry for the camera.

I had the same problem with running PSE 5.0 on Vista and having the M2000Twn.dll error popping up…

I found the driver here:
< http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/SCANNER-Digital-CAMERA-WEBC AM/OTHER-SCANNERS/Acer-Extensa-5200-BISON-Orbicam-Driver.sht ml>

when I downoaded it I just looked thru the folders, found the app extension M2000Twn.dll and copied it into the BisonC07 folder in twain_32 (found under windows)

problem fixed WITHOUT having to uninstall or reinstall anything at all !

a really BIG thank you to Marianne Mayberry for the hint

what you can do is copy the M2000Twn.dll file into the dir of the .exe of photoshop, then change the photoshop file extention to photoshop.local.exe and this will make it search for .dll files in its dir first before looking else where. this is how i fixed my problem

Hi,

You don’t need to download the driver, just copy C:\Windows\twain_32\BisonCam\M2000Twn.dll into C:\Windows\twain_32\BisonC07\ dir and it’s OK.

Yeap that did the trick indeed, but I tried to capture a picture from the cam and it didn’t work.

I got this error: "The scanner software doesn’t support in memmory transfers".

If photoshop cannot capture from this device why does it list it as available source?
