For several years, Photoshop 7.01 worked well on my Win98 system. Yes, it’s quite aged, but so what, it does what I need.
Some days ago however, all over sudden, I could not start the prog any more.
Each time I try, I get the error message: Could not initiate Photoshop because a program error occurred (or similar, my version is not English).
I re-installed several times, to no avail, the same error message keeps popping up. Image Ready works, but that doesn’t help me at this point.

Please: How can I get Photoshop back to co-operate? I did not do any changes on my Windows system (as far as I can tell). It’s old, so I don’t bother anyway, but I desperately need Photoshop!
Thank y’all in advance!

Anything been installed in the interim?
Spyware or virus infection?
How much undefragmented HD space have you?
PS needs a minimum of 15% (if your HD is 86% full, you could have problems) Have you tried deleting your preference file?
Start PS with the control, alt and shift keys held down, if you get the timing right you will be asked if you want to delete the file, you do, a new one will be created at start up.

You’re absolutely great, ctrl-alt-shift did the trick!
I’m soooo happy I would hug you right now if I could! 🙂 I’ve never ever had problems like this before and I’ll keep your message for future reference, just in case.

Best wishes,
