Are you in 16 bit mode or grayscale?

Its a CMYK photo, saved as .tif, .psd, and .jpg. The filter is available for some photos, and not others.

That filter isn’t available for CMYK images.

Thanks, I just changed to RGB, applied the filter, then changed back to CMYK… all is well in the world.

The keywords and such make very little difference, especially if you are talking about keywords in a Meta tag. No major search engine even looks at keywords in Meta tags any more; Google stopped looking at the Meta tags years ago.

Google’s search engine results depend in large part on the number of people who link to you. The more people like your site, the more people link to you; the more people link to you, the higher your Google page rank goes.

Some unethical conmen will tell you that they can raise your Google search placement by creating links to you from thousands of sites they own. Google caught on to that trick about two years ago, and disregards links from these "bad neighborhood" link farms when it calculates your page rank.

The best way to get high placement? Outstandingly high quality content. High quality content makes people want to link to you.

You aren’t doing yourself any favors when you provide a link like the one above that results in a "Page Cannot Be Found". The semi-colon is within the link and must be taken out to get to the page.

Your "morebest" page is an abomination. Why would anyone click on images like that? http://www.dcphotoworks.com/MoreBest/index.html

The "transit" images look like efforts using some filters, but don’t quite make it as good images or special effect images.

Before you start to improve the ranking, improve the pages.

Andy,

The first thing that you need to ask yourself, is "what do I want to do with these filters?" Once you have defined the use and need, you can begin to collect those that fill that need. I use a bunch by Andromeda, Extensis, AlienSkin (now EyeCandy, or maybe something else, by now), Kai’s PowerTools (didn’t Corel buy Kai’s?), and many others. Each has a use, or HAD a use, when I acquired them. There are a good many at the Adobe Exchange, though I find far less use for many of those – same can be said for many of the Actions there. Just to fill one’s Plug-in directory with filters isn’t that wise. For one, it will take longer for PS to load and it then has a bit larger footprint on your system. Also, as each release comes about Adobe seems to add some good ones to PS, so if you want something for the future, you might wait, and see if it’s in CS-3. Maybe that would be a reason to upgrade.

Do you have any specific needs right now? If you do, let us know, as I’ll bet that someone has got one to do "just that." What version of PS do you have now? A good starting point for commercial filters would be Publishing Perfection. Another would be to do a Google search for Photoshop Plug-ins (also try "plugins").

Well, you are correct that More Best page is total crap. Even if you can get past the ugly design and the totally and completely worthless over compressed thumbnails you basically are shown the thumbnail without the high compression. What’s the point. Besides if the "larger" view is just going to be the thumbnail without all of the compression why not just so that on the thumbnails page instead of that shit are showing.

Then we get to the photos themselves. None of them inspire, none of them make you want to spend any time looking at them. They look like the crap Corel used to give you when you bought Corel Graphics suite.

If I were him I wouldn’t waste my time on increasing my search engine placement, I would spend my time learning about web site design, photography and how to design a site and offer things on that site that someone would actually like to see.

I think he is talking about where he can get ones he can offer for download. Since it appears he has no talent what-so-ever he needs other peoples stuff to put up. Shame he didn’t take this one step further and rip-off someone else’s web site as well.

Sorry for the reply. I obviously mis-read the post. I "assumed" that he wanted Filters to create his Web site, but now, I think you are correct.

PS too bad that folk do not just state, "hey, I want a bunch of Filters to give away on my Web site. Who’s got links, or uploads for me?"

True it would be less offensive and a lot more honest.

There’s an entire industry of filter makers out there.

Which filters are you looking for? Any particular effects? or just some to experiment with?

Are you looking for free or commercial (paid for) filters?

For work or for hobby/fun?
