I recently purchased Adobe Elements 5. I am really confused because there was no manual with this program. My question is I saw on a show the other day and they were using APE 5. They were making silhouette of a childs head and they took the picture and changed it to black. I tried to do this and what happens is the whole page turns black not just the image. I am hoping that someone could help me with this. Also could someone guide me to where I could find a tutorial on APE5

You’ve stumbled into the wrong forum. The Photoshop Elements forum is down the hall on the left. Also, please note that Adobe is a company, not a product so to avoid confusion always use the name of the product you need help with.

The gurus in the Elements forum will be able to help you but you might want to hit google for Photoshop Elements tutorials…there are thousands of them.
