plug ins crash on cs3

Hi

in cs3 when ever I use a plugin I get a total system crash and the following error message:

error signature:,photoshop.exe APP ver 10.0.0.0 mod name unknown mod ver:0.0.0.0 offset: 1353675d

is this a problem ewith CS3 or the plugin does anyone have any ideas? thanks
