Is the upgrade from PS6 to PS C2 available? I have looked at the normal places to buy it, but do not find one (except for the download sites)? I just wanted to buy the upgrade for now since PS6 is not eligible for the upgrade to CS3.

Thanks

Mike

CS2 is no longer officially available from Adobe. You may, however, still find the odd retailer has a copy on their shelves that they are willing to sell. If you find one, check first with Adobe Customer Services that they will still allow the upgrade and registration.

It would appear all future upgrades will be subject to the new "three versions back" rule.

Best of luck with your search.

Do you have anything to back this up? I have seen nothing to indicate this is a fixed policy, and the next upgrade revision may well only apply to 2 versions back, or one.

Chris,

With regard to Adobe allowing the upgrade and registration, of course they would. After all, the upgrade itself can be peformed regardless. And registration should be just fine so long as the serial number has never been registered to another person; i.e., the product is a new, legitimate retail version (preferably not saying ‘Made in Singapore’, based upon recent issues with fakes). After all, I’m sure it happens enough that someone may never register their software, then later reinstall it perhaps on a new system, be promted to register, and do so without a problem. I see no reason whatsoever that Adobe would ever disallow registration for a legitmate serial number. I can’t say for certain, but I’ve probably done this myself, as I used to believe in not registering, mostly for the sake of controlling who has my name and address in this spam-filled world.

Regards,

Daryl

I’m not sure if you are advocating not registering with Adobe, Daryl, but if you are, I would suggest that one should. There have been many cases of people here who have "lost" disks, or seen then destroyed somehow, and without registration they are pretty much out of luck. If you did register you can get current versions replaced for a shipping charge, and past versions can be made eligible for an update.
