Hi everybody,

I’m thinking about upgrading from Phtoo Shop 7 to CS3, and I have one question. It doesn’t seem like ImageReady is part of CS3. Are all of the old ImageReady features like slices and rollovers built into Photo Shop CS3 or is there another part of the creative suite that does that?

I really don’t like DreamWeaver, so I’m hoping if that’s not the only option.

Thanks

Well, it seems that the only way to write rollover JavaScript code with CS3 is with Dream Weaver. That really sucks. I think I’d rather hand-code it. It’s probably easier. They had a good thing going, and they wrecked it. I can’t imagine why they thought it was a good idea to take something that you used to be able to do with one program and make it require two programs, but they did. Makes me wonder if I can install the old ImageReady with CS3 on the same HD. PhotoShop CS3 is clearly better for editing photographs, but it’s not as good as it used to be for web. It’s a real shame that they chose to ditch a great feature and make life more difficult for web designers.

Maybe Adobe wants you to use Fireworks for that. Or what’s the use for Fireworks CS3? I’ve not tried Fireworks CS3 though.
