If photoshop 6 does not respond when working off line (not connected to the network), or when a mapped drive is temporary unavailable, try the following. From the menubar select "Edit" followed by "Preferences" and select "Workflow options". In the dialog box select "Never" for both selection fields, this should solve the "No response" problems.
