upgrade from Photoshop 5.0 to CS2

I need to upgrade from v. 5.0 to CS2 due to a recent hard drive failure. When I did this 3 years ago, there was an extra step I had to go through once the CS2 disk was in place to get it to install succesfully. I called Customer Service and they had me try to change the instmsia file, but none of the options they suggested worked. Does anyone remember what to do?
