Photoshop license for personal use

Hello, i’d like to know wether it was forbidden to use Photoshop without paying that much, for a personal use (or in extension until where is it considered illegal, for example for an association poster, for just the family)
is it linked to profit organization or non profit ones also?

‘paying that much’?

Photoshop is commercial software ( not shareware/freeware )……I suspect you’ll need to buy a copy if you want to use it legally.

But, there are versions available, like an educational version, at a discounted price – you will have to prove you status for that.

Photoshop elements is less expensive, and is more geared towards personal use.

what chris said… the edu version is the way to go if you’re a student. and it’s not restricted for only "personal use".

or what jim said: the gimp is a fine free editor.

or what pierre said: elements is a fine low cost editor.
