Cannot save file as jpeg

Hi,
Every timne I create a new file, I cannot save it as a jpg, How can I create new pictures and save them as a jpeg?

You did not say what problem you were seeing when trying to save a jpg so I’ll assume you do not see jpg in the format list when you click on SaveAs.

My best guess is that the bit/channel is set to something higher than 8 Bits/Channel. Click on Menu -> Image -> Mode. If there is not a check mark next to 8 Bits/Channel, click on it. Afterwards you will be able to see jpg in the SaveAs format list.

Jpg files can only be saved as 8 bits/Channel.
