Lot’s of rumors floating around but nothing officially from Adobe. They are not saying anything. At least I havn’t heard anything. My anticipation level is up too. I am hoping we will see something by the end of this year or early next year.
If you want to read the rumor mill, do a search on these forums. This topic is coming up constantly.

They’ve cancelled it.
Ain’t happening.
Now, got be a good little artist and buy the new Corel Suite.
Don’t tell anyone you heard that from me…I’ve been sworn to secrecy, but I’m so mad I don’t care anymore.

Actually a pretty good buy if you ask me.
BTW, I’m taking next Monday in the "When will Adobe make a major upgrade announcement?" pool.

sssshhhhh! you were not supposed to say anything!
2funny 😀
I also heard all adobe products are going to be merged into one grand app called Adobe Everything.
There has been some debate on the name however (more like contraversy) The programers are at odds with the designers. They want it to be called Adobe Domination. But that was the last rumour I heard.

I am in for 20 bills. I think October 31. Why? To scare the competition into submission.
September 29th might be the day, as they do tend to update the web site on Monday mornings with major announcements.
Bryan Lamkin of Adobe is scheduled to keynote PhotoshopWorld on the 30th, and is slated to speak about "the first in-depth look at new Photoshop technology." <

What we see next week might not be Photoshop 8, but could be called Photoshop CS (Creative Suite). Regardless, next week should make us Adobeholics very happy, and a month later, very poor 🙂
I’ve seen a reference to InDesign CS recently. There have also been some not so subtle hints from Adobe personnel that have led me believe that a major announcement is very near. Even they seem to be having a hard time keeping it all bottled up.

I think I’m more interested in ID3 than PS8. But nuthin’s stoppin me from getting both, if I think it’s worth it.
I believe that InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and GoLive are all going to get the CS designation, as they are all designed to work together as a "Creative Suite."
Supposedly we’ll being seeing some workgroup server software for use with this Creative Suite, but little has leaked out on its capabilities.
It sounds like Adobe is planning one of the largest series of product announcments in its history–four major products all at once!
CS. You mean Adobe products are now CS?

Not to mention the already-released Acrobat 6, Premiere Pro, Font Folio OpenType Edition, AfterEffects 6, Audition, and Encore DVD! So make that 10 new products all within 3-4 months of each other!

Yup, Coming Soon. <VBG>

What? You guys don’t have you copy yet? You need connections.
Okay, just for the record… I DID predict a Q4 release did I not? Granted Sept 29 isn’t officailly q4, but from a sales perspective, when folks can buy it, it is.
<smitten with self satisfaction>
If they upgrade several programs at once we will each need a 1.000 bucks.
Just to smite you a bit more :P, if you work for HP, their fourth quarter runs from August to October (beginning of financial year is 1st Nov), so 29th Sep is well in Q4 …
I am now thoroughly smited. Thank you.
Norbert,
A ‘Creative Suite’ sound more or less like to the so-called ‘Adobe Design Collection’, that is right now 1,199.00 US$ in the Adobe store. As an ‘upgrade’ for that, it should be less… But only if Adobe takes this approach and [wild speculations ahead] that would be an interesting thing to do if Adobe wants to finish off some of their competitors. And that’s doubtful as some of them are already making their own seppuku 😉
But, who knows?
early November for both PS 8 and illustrator 11 from Computer Arts…..
The upgrade policy will be very interesting. I have PS, Ill, and ID. I’m not particularly looking forward to shelling out big bucks all at once. I’m hoping for some kind of group deal.
Bob
I want the Creative Suite Premium edition (PhotoShop, InDesign, Illustrator, GoLive, Acrobat) so I can get hold of GoLive as well the big 3. But i dont want to have to pay for another copy of Acrobat 6. Perhaps there will be a choice of upgrade paths…
I think its smart marketing on the part of Adobe to put Acrobat in the premium edition with GoLive – it means a lot of people will get the Premium Edition to get hold of Acrobat and will get GoLive into the bargain.
Hopefully this will take some market share from Macromedia and convince a lot of people that there’s more out there than just Dreamweaver (yes, we all know there’s text editors out there).
Wow, I am going have rack my VISA again. But hey, I always like new upgrades. It is like getting a new video game to me 🙂
