When I ran Photoshop this morning, it had reset itself to its default, freshly-installed state; it was fine when I shut down Photoshop last night, but all my settings were gone this morning. I found a posting in the archives from someone else who had the same problem:

This doesn’t happen to me as often (once every month or so), but it’s disturbing when it does happen. I have not deleted the preferences, reset them, or touched them in any way. Nor have I run any application that could have caused the preferences to be corrupted. And it happens on two different machines. I just don’t get why this happens. Anyone have any clue what causes this?
