Hi:

I’m pretty new to Photoshop. And, I’m wondering how you create the "creative" looking edges around photos. The kind of photos that aren’t just rectangular, but have some shape and style to them. Any help welcome.

There are entire collections of plugins that provide different edge treatments. You will have to me more specific on what you want (perhaps a link to a sample) for us to be able to tell you how to do something without a filter.

Hi Steve!

You explained yourself perfectly, WITHOUT a sample. You don’t need plug-ins, which are merely a lot of steps condensed into a clickable form, you can do it with Photoshop’s native tools.

YrBkMgr, you know I DO try to help those with intelligent, decently explained questions. It’s the lazy gits asking how to make a circle, remove a background, or some other "basic" task that is SO well documented in the manual or here on the forums who get to enjoy my un-medicated personna…LOL!

I must admit tho’ that it is irritating as hell for the noobs who are not all that familiar with PS who always suggest the posting of an example to look at. It’s called envisioning, and as in this case, easily conceived when the question is well written.
