This is not exactly a photoshop problem, but someone here may know…

I’m trying to scan 35mm negs on a Canon 5000F.
The scanner driver program ScanGear CS should have a "Film" option in the "Select Source" drop-down menu, but all it gives me is "Platen". Anyone know what might be wrong?

Jon:
You might submit this to the comp.periphs.scanners NG.

Have you tried reinstalling the software? Is the software up to date and is it supposed to work with the OS you are using? Is the film adapter working?

See page 21 of the manual, or "Selecting the Film Adapter Unit". It explains how to get to the film option. I must admit it’s pretty obtuse compared to other programs!

Don’t tell him to read the manual, isn’t that what newsgroups are for 😉
