Why does a JPEG image file (Save for Web from PS 7.0) shift a web color slightly? Gif can reproduce this color (#888888) just fine, but a JPEG shifts the color slightly pink. It appears neutral in PS and in GL, but preview it in a browser, and it shifts.
Has anybody ever had this problem?
The JPEG image is situated on cell background made from #888888, and you can really see the difference between the two colors.
(The JPEG in question is a photo image, with a solid color fill top and bottom to match the proportions of other images in a gallery. I’m using GL to create Set Image URL actions to load a new image, when a viewer clicks a thumbnail.)
Thanks!
