I got a new laptop and wanted to load my Photoshop 5.5 upgrade on it. To do so, I have to load my original Photoshop 4.0 first. When I try to do so, I get a message that "Program will not run without 3 MB of virtual memory". Actually, my machine has 1.5 gigabytes of virtual memory and 1 GB of RAM. I have re-booted, etc., but no dice.

Thanks for your help.
Reed

p.s.: I have no need for a newer Photoshop. even 4.0 has many features I never use.

No, you don’t. You only have to have the CD and your serial number handy when installing the later version.

Reed,

You DO NOT need to load 4 before 5.5. Just install 5.5 and when asked insert your Version 4 CD for verification.
