I have been pressed into service as a Santa photographer for a local arts fund raiser. If things go as planned, I will have a hundred or more digital images, from which I am to produce 5"x7" prints for mailing afterward. The volume of the job makes me wonder if I need some printing software other than my trusty PS6.
I will need to do two things with each photo: crop it to 5×7 and print it with the file name in the margin, which allows me to match the kid with the family. I will shoot on a tripod so the crop can be in the same place each time.
I can do this in PS6 and automate it to some extent with a script, but I wonder if some other software would do it more easily.
If I do use PS, is there a way to capture the file name and insert it in the margin without manually typing it?
Thanks.
