I’m working on a file where I though it might be helpful to have outlines around all the text which exists on many layers. I’ve realised it looks horrible, and now I’d like to know is if there is a way to eleminate the layer effects from more than one layer at a time. Of course, I can do it one at a time, just looking for a more efficient method.

thanks.

You can either:

Hide all layer effects – under Layer>layer style>hide all effects.

or

Link all the layers together, turn off the layer effects of one layer, copy that layer style, then go to Layer>layer style>paste layer style to linked.

Excellent! I never look under that Layer pull-down on the menu bar. There’s all sorts of tools hiding right there in plain view!

Hope it helps…as with most things in Photoshop, there may be a better way of doing this – maybe someone else has a better suggestion?
