Copy/Paste Arabic into Photoshop Problems

I am trying to copy Arabic text out of Internet Explorer, and paste into Photoshop as a text layer. When I do so, the arabic reverses itself. It is right to left when I copy it, but when I paste it, it reverses itself (and accordingly changes the characters to match the new garbage word). I sent my Photoshop file to my translator, and he sent it back corrected, but when I opened the psd in Photoshop, it said it needed to update the text object in order to edit it. When I clicked update, it reversed the text. If I didn’t update it, it stayed an uneditable vector – but was correct. I’ve tried switch my keyboard preferences (in XP) to Arabic during the copy and paste, but had no effect.

Any ideas?

I’m using Photoshop 6, but I did download the trial of CS and it behaved the same.

Oddly enough, the text shows up properly in the layer title.

More info – when I paste the text into Photoshop, it automatically chooses Traditional Arabic as the font.
