I have an image of an Adobe Photohsop 7 CD that I’m not to sure is legitimate. I found it on an auction site and would like to know how to tell if it’s real.

* If it was really, really cheap.
* If the shiny side isn’t silver.
* If it came with nothing at all in writing.
* If they tell you that you can’t upgrade this version.

If all they’re offering is a CD in a case, it’s unlikely it’s legit. If it’s being offered as an OEM version, it’s not legit.

* If there’s a white paper label on the CD-R.

Just for the record, he’s asking how to tell if it’s legitimate, not fake. 🙂

It’s easier to prove the negitive:

* If it was really, really cheap.
* If the shiny side isn’t silver.
* If it came with nothing at all in writing.
* If they tell you that you can’t upgrade this version.
* If there’s a white paper label on the CD-R.
* If it’s still Photoshop 7, and it’s new, long after PSCS ships. * If you bought it for $3 on your trip to the Orient.

Yeah, I don’t have physical possession of the disk. I’ve reported the link to the e-mail address provided and pointed them to some other forums that this guy was selling the software on. A couple he’s gone back and edited "SOLD". I think he knows I’m on to him. 😉

For starters they didn’t use the correct font for "Adobe Photoshop"…
