Problem with Eraser Tool

When I use the eraser tool in "Block" mode it works fine. However if I switch to "Brush" or "Pencil" modes nothing happens and it doesn’t erase anything.

Any suggestions appreciated.

check your tool bar and make sure your at 100% opacity and in normal mode. when you are in block mode with the eraser these options are not there.
