Getting an error message when trying to save for web

When I try and save for web, as any file extension, I receive an error saying "Could not complete this operation because an assertion has failed." What does that mean? I’ve been using this software on my computer for the past year, and then this happens out of no where. Is there a solution to this? I’ve already re-installed the software and it’s still doing the same thing.

try holding down ctrl+alt while using Save For Web.
Delete SFW prefs.

"Close all Adobe programs and run the regedit
(Be careful, any wrong change may damage your windows System). Just delete ‘HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Save For Web 3.0’ …….. Restart Photopshop
