Can I copy and paste images into Layer Masks???

Apparently not, unless I’m doing something wrong.

Is there any way of copying a black and white image from one layer and pasting it into the Layer Mask of another layer???

Anytime I try to paste it into the Layer Mask, it only pastes it into a brand new layer.

I’d appreciate any help.

load the Luminosity of that layer- apply it to the destination layer mask.

You need to make sure the layer mask is both selected (active) AND visible-meaning in the channels palette it must be visible. Then it copies and pastes laike any other channel.
