Hello!

I am a photoshop novice.

I would like to hilite a route on a map without hiding the map details. Can this be done in Photoshop 7? If so, how?

Heres 2 quick ways
Add a transparent layer over the map layer and paint the route, then reduce the opacity of the painted route layer to suit

or just paint straight onto the map but lower the opacity of the brush so the detail on the map still shows

Create a new layer and paint your route to suit then change the layer blend mode to Overlay.
