I would like to create a background that matches a mat board’s color. Do the mat board manufacturers such as Bainbridge and Crescent provide the rgb or cmyk numbers for their mat boards? Are there other ways to get such a match? Thanks.

I guarantee that your background will not match on my monitor. Now is a good time to learn about Pantone colors.

None of the mat board manufacturers publish CMYK colors. Most of the colors are quite proprietary and are jealously protected.

Scanning a piece or a corner sample might do it, but since many mat boards are textured you probably wouldn’t get one "true" reading.
