I saw this topic somewhere on this forum, but can’t find it now. The following link was recommended for improving areas in shadow… <http://aikodude.tripod.com/PSRemoveShadows/main.html>

We attempted to use this process step-by-step in Photoshop 7, but found that, in Step 3, "Black" was not available in the channel dropdown during Load Selection. "Gray" was the only available channel. Any ideas on what’s happening? is this a difference in PS versions, or are we missing something?

Thanks.

Scott,

I know that tutorial is old – don’t know from which version. But if you set the channel to grayscale instead of black, it does what they are illustrating in the tut.

Peace,

yup… that’s my site. (aikodude.tripod.com) found that on adobe a long time ago. lucky I saved it because I went to look for it online one day and it was gone. maybe v5.5… still works though.

I’ve been pondering that too, but it still seems to work… I never noticed when it changed because I always run it out of an action.

If you think about it 50% gray and 50% black are the same thing.
