I have an image that I would like to send as a greeting card. Is it possible to enter text right onto the image, such as "Happy Birthday"? If so, where can I find the instructions?

Thanks,
Rachel.

Use (and look up instructions for) the text tool. It’s the one with the T icon in the tool palette and I think there might be a recipe about how to use it. It’s definitely in the Online Help.

Rachel, all you need to do is open the image on your desktop, select the Text Tool, and start typing your greeting. Each line of new text automatically opens a new layer. If you save the image with the layers (in other words, don’t flatten it before saving) you can print and then go back and delete the layers to remove the text. Ah, of course, JPEGs won’t save layers, so you’d have to work in another format like PSD or TIFF.
