I recenly went from PS7 to PS CS2.

I really like how CS2 allows for selecting multiple layers and linking them but I really liked how quickly it was to just use the old link icon next to each layer like in Photoshop 7.

Is there any way to bring this back in CS2 with a preference?

If not I may just have to setup a hotkey, which I didn’t want to do.

Thanks

That’s the problem. Multiple layer selection takes time. The link box is much, much faster than using multiple selections (direct click vs. keyboard plus click plus hitting the link icon).

This was a very poor interface decision. What’s more, it’s inconsistent with the layer palettes in Illustrator and Indesign that retain the link checkbox. So much for consistency within the "suite".

If you don’t use a lot of layers and layer sets, you can’t appreciate what a very annoying change this is.
