Hey everyone!

I’m having this issue with all of my Adobe programs but I didn’t see a general Adobe forum so I figured I’d post it here. Everytime I open an Adobe aplication, two windows pop up and say:

Updating Adobe Online Components From Adobe.com
File: AWEXFiles.txt
To: MAC Library……….

It really hangs up to opening of the programs and sometime won’t even open. It just sits there waiting, and waiting and waiting…..

Any ideas as to how to get rid of these safetly?

This can be turned off in the applications’ preferences.

Neil is right. The Adobe Online preferences can (and should) be set to NEVER check for updates.

The problem, of course, is that you can’t even get to the preferences at all because the programs hang on launch.

The two solutions are either (1) disconnect from the Internet temporarily until you can set the Online preferences in all Adobe applications to Never, or (2) take the Adobe Online support folder out of the applications.

I went the first route myself.
