While this may seem a "duh" questions to you many experts, I’ve been wrestling with this issue for a long time…
Using PS 10, Epson cx5200 (using Epson papers, Epson inks), Mac OS 10.3.3
Original Phtoshp (10) doc. is lovely on the monitor –Apple — (which I calibrate monthly)…colors are vibrant, rich, and not out-of-gamut…
When I print (ink jet printer), everything looks as though it’s had a smoggy grey film put over the colors, and the pictures…they look dingy and the darker prints lose detail. Same is true with Print preview: colors on-screen match to a "T" the "dingy" colors on the printouts.
Am importing Jpegs-photos, most of which "do not match the current RGB working space (which I have set up as Monitor RGB – Apple Studio Displaybut have also tried the target printer as the work space." Have tried using embedded profile, converting pics to working space, as well as no color managing.
The color settings (under Phtoshp Menu) are a bit confusing..but trial and error (and a lot of it) hasn’t made any improvements in the outcome (the screen picture changes, but the print is very dark).
I know this is a complex issue…any pointers at all will help. I’m pooped out. Many thanks, Nancy
Thanks, Nancy
