Ever since upgrading to Mac OS 10.2.8 Photoshop has been behaving strangely. Whenever I try to create a new file (File>New) photoshop ‘sort of’ crashes. I can collapse windows, but nothing else happens! I must ‘force quit’ to continue using Photoshop. I re-installed it but it still does this! Anyone else with this problem? Any solutions?–AD

trash prefs

repair permissions

reprebind

run cron scripts

PS7 works flawlessly with 10.2.8

but you need to do basic OSX maintenance

I’ll bet a dollar that your "New Document" dialogue window is off-screen.

Trashing your prefs should fix it.
